To spend or save, that’s the age old question! We love good quality shoes, clothes and handbags, but also love a good deal. It seems like more and more of the budget friendly stores are making “look-alike” items of the luxury brands. Some are great alternatives and others are a total miss. Here is a cute Fall outfit with it’s budget friendly doppelganger. Read on to see what items we think you should spend vs. save!
The Linea Paolo wedges from Nordstrom are $119 vs The New Day brand from Target are $37.99. As far as looks go these two are very similar! The main difference we noticed is the Linea Paolo are a little softer leather and fit tighter around the ankles. If your foot is on the wider side you probably will not notice much of a difference in the fit. The stitching on the Target sneaker is a hair more noticeable, but not bad. All in all, this would be one place you could opt to save and still accomplish almost the exact same look. For us, the Linea Paolo are the keepers due to the tighter fit around the ankle.
We all love the comfort of a good pair of black leggings. If you add a little faux leather pair to the mix, it spices up any outfit! The Spanx faux leather leggings are a crowd pleaser and have been for years, but average around $100. We both love and rock our Spanx leggings often, but we found these BP faux leather legging at Nordstrom to be a real contender. Both have the high-waisted thick band for a little extra tummy control. They have the comfort and stretch that we love. The Spanx are a little more of a matte look vs the BP brand. If we have to choose, we say go with the Save from Nordstrom! Side note: the Spanx do come in additional sizes (petite and plus sizes) so if this pertains to you, it may be the better option.
We love both of these cardigans! They are great camo prints and perfect with the faux leather leggings. It was a toss up, but we chose the Spend cardigan found at Evereve. We were drawn to the colors and stitching. However, if you have some Kohl’s cash in your wallet, then definitely check out the APT 9 cardigan from Kohl’s.
The Chloe Handbag is really in a league of it own. It has a timeless look and quality leather. It will truly last a lifetime if cared for properly. The only downfall is the HEFTY price tag that comes along with the Chloe name. If the price doesn’t have you running in the other direction, this is a perfect bag to make the splurge and spend the money. Now, for the other 95% of the population that almost spit out your water when you saw the price, we found a fantastic look-alike. The Destin Bag from Sole Society has the same timeless look for a whole lot less! We don’t think you can go wrong with the Splurge or the Save here!
